Swipe toast

A toast notification you flick away sideways; Escape, arrow keys and a close button dismiss it, and it auto-dismisses with a timer that pauses on hover and focus.

What it is for

Save confirmations and errors (render it in a fixed corner container; role=alert for errors).

Accessibility

  • Keyboard. Components in the kit are written to be reached and used with the keyboard. Try it: press Tab inside the preview.
  • Reduced motion. With prefers-reduced-motion on, animation settles to its finished state at once.
  • Touch. Pointer-follow effects are skipped on touch screens; controls stay finger-sized.
