Thought line

A text field with a living underline that ripples while you type, settles flat when you pause and fills as the character budget is used.

What it is for

Titles, quick notes and prompts with a character limit (block-level, fills its parent up to 340px).

Accessibility

  • Keyboard. Components in the kit are written to be reached and used with the keyboard. Try it: press Tab inside the preview.
  • Reduced motion. With prefers-reduced-motion on, animation settles to its finished state at once.
  • Touch. Pointer-follow effects are skipped on touch screens; controls stay finger-sized.
